is a group of amateur radio operators in the Central Texas area with a news
special interest in amateur radio
DXing and radiosport
contesting.
Most of the membership is from the Travis, Williamson, and Hays
counties of central Texas, with most club members living near
Austin, Texas. We always welcome
visitors and new members!

CTDXCC Social meeting, May 28, 2024
The usual crowd, though smaller than in past months, gathered to discuss what was on their collective minds. Naturally, it all started with a rancid comment by one of the participants which was appropriate to the conversation though certainly not appropriate here. (It had to do with antennas, believe it or not!) But at least it broke the ice! Some of the other topics included SOTAs, North Carolina, Indiana, weather forecasting, baseball, the Wolves, Hector (yet again, though most of him was from the Good Old Days), WPX, Dayton, physical disabilities, iced tea, hot cars, FT8 versus anything else, antennas, more antennas, obsolete equipment, good deals on towers, LOTW, the future of ARRL, amplifiers with and without pads, inflation, China, travel, pickups vs vans vs motor homes, flea markets, ICOM radios, DXCC, LOTW vs the alternative, paddles, youngsterism, learning a foreign language, swearing in Spanish, silent keys, the side effects of eating beans, Austin traffic, charging stations, rocks, tipping for services and many other things I have simply forgotten. If you had been there, you would have remembered all the other stuff we talked about, Too bad for you if you missed it but there will be another one next month on the last Tuesday of the month.
Please plan on being there on June 25 so you can bring up some interesting topics. 6p on 6/25/2024, Los Reyes Mexican Grill! Don’t miss it or you will be sorry.
