The new 20 meter beta match. I used some old pieces from a KLM 20 meter beam to get a split driven element. Got the balun from Array Solutions and constructed the betamatch out of some 1/4" tubing I had around and some Lexan sort of material that I machined on my table saw and drill press. Note the robust clip leads (used for initial testing. I hauled it up about 15 feet and the match was great. Viewed: 116 times.

Replaced the clips leads with a wire and some lugs. I crimped the end of the tubing and where the wire went so I could drill a hole. I also crimped it slightly on the far side of the closet support so the rods would not slip. They were snug against the KLM insulator. Viewed: 135 times.

The new tram bracket and pulleys. Click on the picture and it will download a bigger picture and you can see the details better. Viewed: 114 times.

The beam made it up there without any helpers. I did have to pull the tram cable some as it got up higher to clear the guys. Viewed: 119 times.

The tram wire support anchor - which can easily be moved as needed. If the tension gets too high in the cable - it just creeps forward a bit. Viewed: 93 times.

Looking from the tractor down the tram line. The tram line was connected just above the top of the tower. The block and tackle was about 5 feet above that point - so I could use it to do the final placement. Viewed: 122 times.

Another big project is the new deck. I have been working on this for several weekends (including taking a few Fridays off from work). I will be working on it more weekends. Viewed: 118 times.

But it sure looks nice and flat. Hope the cedar smell lasts awhile. Viewed: 116 times.
