CTDXCC/TDXS Joint Meeting, August 7, 2004
K5NA/K5DU Station
The K5NA/K5DU Station.

The first joint meeting of the Central Texas DX & Contest Club (CTDXCC) and the Texas DX Society (TDXS) will be held on the afternoon of Saturday, August 7, 2004, at the home of Richard King K5NA and Susan King K5DU. The joint meeting will start at 2:00 PM, but members and guests are invited to show up as early as 1:00 PM, or whenever they can tear themselves away from the annual Austin Summerfest ham radio convention, where the CTDXCC is sponsoring the popular DX and Contest Forum.

In addition to the joint meeting, we will fire up the grills, with picnic food and non-alcoholic beverages provided. The K5NA/K5DU contest station will be on the air, operating an informal M/2 operation in the North American QSO Party, CW for party guests to have fun on the air from a Texas-sized contest station!

K5NA and K5DU are located in eastern Travis county, north of Manor, Texas. To get there from Austin Summerfest, take US 290 E east, through the town of Manor, and turn left (north) on FM 973 (there is a stoplight at this intersection.) K5NA and K5DU are exactly 6.0 miles north, on the left. Look for the four ham radio towers at the end of a long gravel driveway. For detailed directions, click here.
