The Central Texas DX & Contest Club (CTDXCC)
is a group of amateur radio operators in the Central Texas area with a
special interest in amateur radio
DXing and radiosport
contesting.
Most of the membership is from the Travis, Williamson, and Hays
counties of central Texas, with most club members living near
Austin, Texas. We always
welcome visitors and new members!

The program for the 2008
W5DXCC gathering on June 13-14 has been announced. The keynote
speaker will be Eric Scace K3NA, talking about the VP6DX Ducie
Island DXpedition. W5DXCC is a special program of events organized
by the Lone Star DX Association
at the annual Ham-Com amateur
radio convention in the Dallas-Fort Worth area each June.

The ARRL DXCC
program has added the Caribbean island of
St. Barthelemy
(FJ) to the
DXCC List, making the island entity number 338 with an
effective date of 14 December 2007.

Events |
|
The weekend of May 24-25 is the
CQ World Wide WPX Contest, CW,
the last major contest of the season. Texans can do well in this
contest at the bottom of the solar cycle - give it a try!
|
|
The weekend of June 14-15 is the
ARRL
June VHF QSO Party, the most important VHF contest of the year
for stations in Texas. Six meters can be very exciting in this
event. If you have a six meter radio, put up any antenna you can,
look up your grid locator, and join the fun!

The next CTDXCC club
meeting is 6:30 PM, Tuesday, 27 May 2008,
at the
Old Quarry Branch Library, 7051 Village Center Dr., Austin,
TX. The meeting topic is TBD.
NOTE: This is the Tuesday
following Memorial Day, the day after our normal fourth Monday!
Many club members get together for pre-meeting Tex-Mex dinner around
the corner from the library at El
Arroyo at 5:30 PM. Visitors are welcome!

affiliated member club of the American Radio Relay
League (ARRL) - and has been assigned by the FCC the
club call sign K5CTX, with K5TR the license
trustee.
