The Central Texas DX and Contest Club (CTDXCC)
is a group of amateur radio operators in the Central Texas area with a
special interest in amateur radio
DXing and radiosport
contesting.
Most of the membership is from the Travis, Williamson, and Hays
counties of central Texas, with most club members living near
Austin, Texas. We always
welcome visitors and new members!

CTDXCC member John Warren NT5C has recently
resigned from service on the ARRL
DX Advisory
Committee. John has represented the West Gulf Division on the
committee for the past 10 years, and has been replaced by Coy Day
N5OK of Oklahoma. The DXAC advises members of the ARRL Board of
Directors on matters related to HF DXing.

CTDXCC member Jim George N3BB was recently
appointed to the ARRL
Contest Advisory
Committee. Jim takes over the task of representing the West
Gulf Division from another CTDXCC member, Joe Staples
W5ASP, who has served in that position for the past 10
years. The CAC advises members of the ARRL Board of Directors
on matters related to HF radio contesting.

Events |
|
The weekend of June 27-28 is the annual
ARRL
International Field Day. The CTDXCC does not have its own
Field Day effort, but encourages members to operate with the
local radio clubs and mentor potential new contesters.

|
Wednesday, July 1 is the annual
RAC Canada Day Contest.
Yes, it's a Wednesday, but give it a go and try to work all the
provinces and territories. You can make QSOs on CW and phone, on
HF plus 6 and 2 meters. Look for the V**RAC official HQ stations
as well.

The next CTDXCC club
meeting is 6:30 PM, Monday, 27 July 2009,
at the
Old Quarry Branch Library, 7051 Village Center Dr., Austin,
TX. The meeting topic is TBA.
Many club members get together for pre-meeting Tex-Mex dinner around
the corner from the library at El
Arroyo at 5:30 PM. Visitors are welcome!

affiliated member club of the American Radio Relay
League (ARRL) - and has been assigned by the FCC the
club call sign K5CTX, with K5TR the license
trustee.
