The Central Texas DX and Contest Club (CTDXCC)
is a group of amateur radio operators in the Central Texas area with a
special interest in amateur radio
DXing and radiosport
contesting.
Most of the membership is from the Travis, Williamson, and Hays
counties of central Texas, with most club members living near
Austin, Texas. We always
welcome visitors and new members!

The CTDXCC congratulates member John Robert Stratton
N5AUS (ex: KE5ISX)
on his appointment as the new
ARRL
West Gulf Division
Vice Director for the remainder of the current term that expires
January 1, 2011. The ARRL Board of Directors determines the
policies of the ARRL, and each division's Director and Vice Director
represent their Division on ARRL policy matters.

We hope that everyone enjoyed the
2010 Austin Summerfest amateur radio convention, August 6-7,
2010. The DX
and Contest Forum was held on Saturday, August 7, with guest
speakers Rob Sherwood NC0B and Ramon Santoyo V. XE1KK. Please
send them a note thanking them for helping us make Summerfest a
great convention!

Events |

The weekend of September 25-26 is the
Texas QSO Party. The CTDXCC is
the reigning Texas Club Champion in the competition, and looks
forward to defending its title this year! Join us for fun!

The next CTDXCC club
meeting is 6:30 PM, Monday, 27 September 2010,
at the
Old Quarry Branch Library, 7051 Village Center Dr., Austin,
TX. The meeting topic will be a presentation of the 2009
K4M Midway Island DXpedition video by James Brooks 9V1YC.
Many club members get together for pre-meeting Tex-Mex dinner around
the corner from the library at El
Arroyo at 5:15 PM. Visitors are welcome!

affiliated member club of the American Radio Relay
League (ARRL) - and has been assigned by the FCC the
club call sign K5CTX, with K5TR the license
trustee.
