*"Pinot Clones Wars" What is Behind the Cloned Pinot Conspiracy?*

'Clone Wars' will address the changing trends in planting and
making Pinot Noir in the Santa Cruz Mountains with various Pinot clones.
We will discuss if there is and why there is an ever changing market
demand for newer clones. Attendees will have the opportunity to taste
and compare over 10 different Pinot clones from five different vineyards
located in various parts of the appellation.

Clones would include selections from: Pommard, Dijon , Louis
Martini, Mariafeld, and Wadensvil. Selected vineyards would be: Bargetto
Winery's Estate Regan, Muns Vineyard, Burrell School Estate Vineyard,
Alfaro Family Vineyard, and Lester Family Vineyard. Winemakers from
these various vineyards will give a brief description of the grape
clones and the type of Pinot Noir they produce while attendees will
taste and compare these clones from each vineyard.

Attendees will by guided through the history of Pinot Noir clones
and the current selections being offered by our keynote speaker, John
Caldwell. John Caldwell is the author of /a Concise Guide to Wine Grape
Clones. (Read this Wine Spectator article about John Caldwell.)/
******This will be a revealing, educational and informative session
that will lift the veil and explain the mystery about different clones.
This is a must for Pinot lovers as well as for anyone growing or
planning to grow and make wine from this illustrious grape.
