I have been asked if I know an aerial photographer who is available to
take vineyard photos from the air. I recently found out about David
Sievert, who has taken aerial shots of many vineyards in the Santa Cruz
Mountains. I have talked with him about taking aerial photos for any of
you who might be interested. He will consider extending a discount to
VASCM members if we can get enough people committed to it. His fee is
based on his flyover of your vineyard plus the prints you want, so it
varies. The base price is $300, which includes one 16x20 print.
Additional prints can add $25-$150 to the total cost, depending on what
you want. He can reduce this fee depending on how many subscribers we
can get. He takes multiple shots and you can choose the view(s) you want.
Why not just log on to Google Earth, you ask? David can take a photo
with an oblique view with distance and depth that you do not get from
Google Earth's overhead perspective. Also, David's photo will be
current (Google Earth's might be some years in the past). And you get
high photographic resolution.
So if you are interested, or want to find out more so you can decide,
contact David Sievert directly: 831-426-7400; email
david at airphotodesigns.com. And he will put together a price package
based on the number of interested parties and the photos you want.
David may also be at our meeting on Wednesday and you can talk with him
there.
