VASCM: Santa Cruz Mountains AVA

For years, I've been blithely believing our AVA boundaries were above "400'
elevation on the southwest or ocean side and 800' elevation on the northeast
or valley side". In fact, this or something similar is widely published
about the AVA.

Not so, according to the official TTB definition of the Santa Cruz Mountains
AVA. It's a lot more complicated than that. The actual TTB text is now on
the VASCM web site as a button at the top of the "About The Appellation" web
page ... or the direct link: http://www.vascm.org/pdf/scm_ava.pdf. Thanks
to Devine Consultants for bringing this to my awareness.
