[DEMI] Protecting pre-amps

I am working on my "foolproof" sequencing system for mast mounting a 
couple of DEMI's preamps.  I seem to remember a discussoin where someone
suggested that leaving the FETs biased on offered more protection against
damage than leaving them off.

Since I am planning on running separate conductors for the preamp's power
and the relays, I could leave them powered up when being disconnected.

Any thoughts or hard experiences to share?
