Hi All!

James Kennedy, WU5E, has moved his Killeen, TX DStar repeater to the
permanent location:

http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/find.cgi?w5lm-b

The coverage area is still being worked out, but it is very good. I've
worked the machine from parts of Temple on 5 watts, and yesterday I
worked it from Temple south on I35 to the 272 mile marker which is
further south than K5CTX covers. The Ft. Hood main post should be well
covered along with Killeen, Harker Heights and some of Copperas Cove.
NU5D owns the tower and may fill us in later on coverage. We plan a
co-located APRS digipeater and IGate in the near future as well.
Internet is via Clearwire, and we are pleased to report the dynamic IP
feature seems to work well so far. We hope our bandwidth will be
sufficient although we will probably limit dongles to one at a time.
Tonite I dongled into it after linking it to REF001 C and had no trouble
chatting with several folks. Please thank Jim by sending coverage
reports and comments to him:

and please copy myself as well. For testing, W5LM^^^B will be linked to
K5CTX^^B as much as possible the next several days. If you are in the
W5LM coverage area, please try it out. The link occasionally times out
or is dropped by a user, so the K5CTX gateway computer will drop any
active link at 28 minutes of each hour and then (try to) connect to
W5LM^^^B one minute later. Thus any QSO's between 28-29 minutes of each
hour may be interrupted for one minute while this is happening, i.e.:

28 * * * * echo " U" > /dstar/tmp/link-b
29 * * * * echo "W5LM CL" > /dstar/tmp/link-b
